How can I get involved at the beginning of the season?
There are two events that we recommend you attend if you are interested in joining the team. We advertise the team and collect emails for the mailing list at Night at the Rec, which is usually a few days before classes begin. This is a great time to visit and see what our team is all about.
If you are unable to meet us at Night at the Rec, fill out the contact form under the "Contact" tab. Following the first week of school, the officers host a meeting next to the Sports Club office at the Rec. This includes an introduction, overview of our season, and important information regarding team registration. We also answer a lot of good questions.
How much is it to join the team?
Last season's semester fee was $300 and the annual fee is $550. This is subject to change for the 2023-2024 season. Membership dues go towards our swim coach's & dive coach's salary, select apparel, competition entry fees, hosting home meets, and travel and lodging fees. However, competitions out-of-state, including CCS Nationals, may require extra payment for airfare or a few meals.
Are there tryouts?
We don't do tryouts, however we offer a 2-week "trial" period where new swimmers and divers can decide if our team is the right fit. Any CSU student with good academic standing can join the team.
Are meets mandatory?
Meets that we don't host are not mandatory. Both home (hosted) meets require that you swim, dive, or volunteer so the event can run smoothly. However, exceptions due to pre-planned activities or appointments can be made.
Where are practices at?
Practice times and locations vary each semester. Just check the schedule tab to see when and where practices are. We practice at Moby and Glenn Morris.
When is Nationals? And, how do we qualify?
Nationals typically takes place in late March or early April. To qualify, you must make the cuts for the individual events. Check the "Competitions & Events" tab under "Schedule" for the latest qualifying times.
